Stand Up 101: Intro to Stand Up Comedy

Learn the art of standup comedy utilizing the TIM philosophy to finding the funny fast. Discover how to nurture true stories into a routine that both engages and entertains your audience. Our experienced instructors will teach you to construct a stage persona, performance mechanics, develop a joke, and create sets this will hit with an audience.

Cost: $180 (Sign up by 12/31/23 and get an Early Bird price of $160!)

Availability: Class is limited to 12 students.

No comedy or theater experience necessary. CLASS RUNS for 2.5 HOURS each week with optional office hours after class as available.

Mo Urban

Rory Monserat mostly does his favorite thing in the whole world, stand-up comedy, in Tucson, Arizona where he's the co-host of the monthly show BrewHaHa at Borderlands. He's also performed in Bird City Comedy Festival, Big Pine Comedy Festival, Keep Tucson Sketchy Comedy Show, and as a host at Laffs Comedy Cafe. Currently you can catch Rory talking to imaginary audiences in his bedroom and instructing the Stand-up 101 class at Tucson Improv Movement.
